Open: 12:00 - 16:00PM 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, & 31st May
Tina and Alan Culverhouse have come together to celebrate the co-respondence between their two artistic practices.
Tina is an artist whose sculpture uses ephemeral materials which deteriorate and shape shift over time, her material processes encompass a feeling of grounding and balance, to build intricate structures, based on her own measurements, which are purpose built and deteriorate over their shown life span.
Alan is a photographer who uses the capture of quotidian experiences to reflect on the human condition and environment.  His bold photographic voice speaks to the environment we live and travel in as well as the personal connections and stories shared through worldwide travel.
In their life together Tina and Alan have often co-responded with one another’s artistic endeavours so decided to bring their work together in this unique and special installation of photographs and glass works.  Here they present their responses to each other, a process of deciding which of Alan’s photographic works would be a starting point for Tina to respond to through drawings, and ultimately glass, hot-worked and presented co-habiting together at the BOTH Gallery.  Tina’s choice of materials based on ever changing nature of glass, transformed from one state to another and abstracting the gaze wrought in Alan’s pinpoint landscapes.
