J. Williamson (b. 1979, Edinburgh, Scotland) is an artist based in London.
Working primarily with clay and textiles.
Their practice explores the relationship between female bodies, the ground,
time, and female archetypes. Clay is central to the work: a material that
physically connects bodies to the earth and to past and future civilisations.
The work is driven by instinct and shaped by influences including science
fiction, the restlessness of nature, motherhood, and lived bodily experience.
