On the Edge brings together six doctoral research artists, Louise Richards, Rob Elford, Rupert Whale, Karolina Gliniewicz, Simon Mercer and Jane Thurley, presenting work across video, sculpture, painting and digital media.
The exhibition reflects the dynamic nature of artistic research: existing on the edge of discovery, and sometimes on the edge of despair. Through diverse practices, the artists explore themes including ageing, mortality, feminism, pathways, the intersection of art and play, alienation and our relationship with landscape and gardening.
Rather than presenting a single narrative, On the Edge celebrates curiosity, experimentation and the creative process itself. Together, these six distinctive voices invite audiences to engage with work that embraces uncertainty, challenges assumptions and reveals the rich possibilities of research-led contemporary art.
