Present imperfect (uncountable)
Works by Alice Fidler
Open Friday 10th - 12th & 16th - 19th October 12-4PM
PV: Thursday 9th October 5-8PM
A grammatical tense which presents the action in the present as continuous, not yet over. Used for actions that are performed regularly or often, or for statements about an existing condition.I see this show as an opportunity to exhibit my work, but as it is a short run and I will be in residence the whole time, I also see it as an opportunity to add a live element, leaning into the performative aspect of my practice. I have invited a few individual artists whom I admire and whose work and practices my work relates to, to join me for a slot each day to be in conversation and maybe action, to potentially re -order/re-build/re-imagine my work together.
I will be bringing works that have visual impact and can be moved around or interacted with, so they become actors in the space. Each interaction will be discrete, not continuous, as each guest brings their own uniqueness to the conversation/interaction. The work on show will therefore change throughout.
